We drove up to R's mom's house for a night last weekend while she is away for the winter. It was a chance to check on the place and get a change of scenery.

Buck Hill
We went downhill skiing in Burnsville on MLK Day. It was only the kids' second time, but they did great!

Back on skis
The kids are signed up for cross-country skiing again, but the practices have been postponed until February. The four of us are planning to hit the trails on Saturdays in the meantime. Here are a couple pics from our first outing at Sucker Lake Park.

Rocket man
Omri decided to exchange his Lego pirate ship Christmas gift for this replica of the Saturn V rocket:
It was complete a week later (with the help of three adults):
I have to say, it is an impressive set that is helping fuel is interest in space.
He can tell you all about the different stages in the process of going to the moon. Maybe he'll go there one day!

Seeing family around Christmas, part 2
After five days at home to quarantine, we picked up a couple of cousins and went up to my parents' place for New Years Eve. I'm really happy we had the chance to see them this holiday season.

Seeing family around Christmas, part 1
We decided to make a few strategically placed visits to the northland this
holiday season with a COVID test in between them. The first trip was Bemidji
to see R's side of the family, which included our newest nephew, Salvador. It
was great to finally meet him!

We spent the night at Mike's house where the hot chocolate poured freely:
