Independence weekend 2026

We had a great Fourth of July weekend on Pleasant Lake with R's side of the family. I enjoyed seeing our nieces and nephews for the first time in a while!

Lucia recently turned one!

Alice followed Veronica around most of the weekend... they were super cute together!

The boys of summer:

The weather worked out really well for enjoying the lake.

Boat parade:

The neighbor really got into it:

It was nice meeting Nate's girlfriend!

Return from an expedition to the Lilypad:

Poor Salvi has broken arm and couldn't go swimming, but he loved pulling the kayak around from the dock:

Lennon spent a lot of time in the water!

Many of us did, actually.

She wanted to go out deep like Moana:

V jumps in:

S'mores with Alice:

Ezra, being helpful:

Another amazing sunset:

Linda's neighbor lit off some fireworks this year, giving us a close-up show.

This photo would have been perfect if I had caught something exploding in it:

One more dip before it was time to go:

Many thanks to Linda for hosting at her beautiful place on the lake!

Mother's Day 2026

Poor R was sick with a bad cold on Mother's Day this year. On the positive side, it resulted in her staying in bed long enough for the kids to join her there like the old days!

Since we might not make it to Folk Fest this summer, I made her a book of photos from all the times we did go up there.

I'm pretty happy with how it turned out.

We also made some fresh entries in the Mother's Day journal.

Veronica "arranged" for some Crumbl cookies for mom:

And we got out to brunch at our favorite neighborhood restaurant (Churchill St):

Also wanted to shout out a happy Mother's Day to my own mom!

And to my mother-in-law!

Wonderful ladies, all of them!
