No, we didn't get a dog. We only watched the neighbor's dog, Rigby, for a few days. It was fun and well-timed, following Mal's passing.
We took him for walks.

Rest in peace, our beloved Mal
Veronica's pet, Mal, has passed away.
He was a good hamster.
Veronica was always quick to point out that Mal was part of our family. She loved him and Mal loved her.
Mal was featured on the cover of Veronica's Hamster Report. He inspired her.
Here's some video footage I found of him enjoying a juicy raspberry:
I'll especially remember our first few days with Mr. Mal and how happy he made my girl up until the end.

Meet Mal
This is Veronica's new hamster, Mal:
I've been waiting to take some better photos of him in the daylight, but this little critter is nocturnal so it's just not happening this time of the year.
V has been a very caring owner and it's sweet to witness.
