School meet-up at the orchard
We met up with a bunch of other families from the kids' school at Aamodt's Apple Farm.

Omri's fifth birthday party
This year for Omri's birthday, we threw a party for him and his friends.
There was a very loose pirate theme and this was our flagship snack:
The kids started with some bouncing:
It is difficult to get quality photos while hosting an event like this, so I missed out on capturing the treasure hunt. Here's a look at the map they used:
The treasures they found each contained a letter, which the older kids helped unscramble to find a piñata:
Omri got some good hits in:
Veronica helped too:
Then we attempted to slow things down by putting together some model buildings given to us by the American Institute of Architects:
They each built a barn:
Next, Omri conducted a potentially skewed poll to get his friends on board with opening gifts:
And then we had cake and ice cream! Fyi, because you can't tell from the photo, this year's cake topper was a Lego podracer.
It was a perfect day for sitting outside:

Dog sitting
No, we didn't get a dog. We only watched the neighbor's dog, Rigby, for a few days. It was fun and well-timed, following Mal's passing.
We took him for walks.
And he kept me company at work.

Omri turns 5
Lots of excitement yesterday on Omri's 5th birthday! He opened a gift from Grandma and Grandpa F after school. It was an arctic explorer Lego set:
Good thing we have a resident Lego expert to help with the building!
They jumped right into it:
Omri picked what we did for dinner: grabbing McDonald's and eating it at Bucher Park:
We brought the scooters along to ride on the track around the playground:
Then it was back home for a cupcake (which Omri skipped because he wasn't hungry). I did get my annual candle photo:
The guy got another Lego set from Mom and Dad! This one is a fire station:
Veronica spent her own money to buy Omri a really nice gift...

This was a whole different process to excavate than we're used to:
Very exciting. Very fun. I'm glad my buddy had a good day.

Happy 5th birthday, Omri!

Wisconsin Dells 2019
We went to Wisconsin Dells and, believe it or not, I forgot to bring my camera with me. I guess that was okay because of all the water involved. I only took a few shots with my iPhone.
