Mother's Day 2026
I'm pretty happy with how it turned out.
Also wanted to shout out a happy Mother's Day to my own mom!
Wonderful ladies, all of them! Read more...
We went to church and out to Washington Square for brunch.

Our tweenager didn't make it to our bed for our usual Mother's Day tradition of bringing R coffee and taking a look at updates to the Mother's Day journal, so we went to her bed instead! (You can catch a glimpse of the new headboard Grandpa Rak built for V in this photo too.)
Well, our tradition of surprising mom in bed with coffee and gifts this year was moved to the couch because Omri was not feeling well, and Veronica slept in a bit (although she put effort into get up earlier than usual on a weekend). We also skipped church due to the illness, but we had a tasty take-and-bake brunch at home. Life has been a little crazy lately, so we'll take the quiet days at home when we can get them. These kids are lucky to have a mom who prioritizes them and is more in touch with them emotionally than I can claim to be. Happy Mother's Day to R and to our fantastic moms as well!
Our annual photo after surprising mom in bed with coffee and a gift:
As is our usual tradition, we surprised R in bed with a cup of coffee (in a new photo mug) and a cinnamon roll.
Always fun to surprise momma in the morning (this time she was up before the kids so we sent her back to bed):
Happy Mother's Day!
