Matilda Jr.

Veronica played Matilda's mother in Matilda Jr. It was a fun show, probably the last middle school show she'll do. All of her grandparents came down to watch!

Here's her bio and Wormwood family photo from behind the scenes:

And here are a few more photos from photographer Kara Salava:

These are from the preview night. Her hair and make-up got more elaborately designed as the show went on.

Raia turns 45

In some ways, 2025 feels like a do-over of 2020, this time without the pandemic. Back then, we celebrated our 15th anniversary at home and were forced to cancel R's 40th birthday party. Five years later, we were able to celebrate our marriage with a vacation and R's birthday with a terrific group of friends by hosting a cocktail party at our neighborhood restaurant, Churchill St.

There was also wine and "substantial appetizers" (not pictured):

Glasses shaped like the number 45:

Book club ladies:

Friends from church:

UST friends (some former roommates):

Not all of R's friends could be classified in groups and there was some overlap between them. I also missed capturing photos of a few guests who had to run off to other events. It's a busy time of the year, but we had a pretty good turnout overall.

Linda drove three hours to be here!

I'll be honest, it's a little frazzling for me to host a party like this! But I honestly had a good time and was glad for the chance to celebrate R.

We had a piece of cake at home with the kids afterwards, although I somehow neglected to get them in a photo! #dadfail. Veronica was kind enough to babysit the kids of other party goers at our house. She did a good job making pizzas and sharing some Taylor Swift with the girls. Omri had his friend Cliff over for video games and guy talk.

It was an all-around great night at the end of a crazy week. Once again, happy birthday to my lovely wife!

Mother's Day 2025

We went to church and out to Washington Square for brunch.

Looking through the new entries in her Mother's Day journal:

She also received a Cribbage board. Omri read the instructions out loud.

Our new siding is on the house, so were finally able to put the deck together and enjoy the space.

We ended the day with some s'mores made on our new tabletop s'mores maker (a gift from our church for teaching Sunday School this year).

Nevermind that our tabletop was our firepit... this was still more convenient (and less smokey).

Twins game 2025

Nice night for it!

It was jersey night.

And it was also St. Thomas night, so we met up with some old friends there!

V in D.C.

One of V's friends took this photo of her on her class trip to Washington, D.C. Of course there are other photos too, but they are a part of V's story, not mine. I just wanted to mark her trip.

Bungalows Key Largo

It's a pretty great feeling to have a midday drink at the airport after dropping your kids off on their own adventures. Monday morning, April 21, Veronica was on her way to Washington, D.C. and Omri was on his way to Camp Widjiwagen (outside of Ely, MN). Construction was just beginning on the exterior of our house (we're getting new siding, trim, and windows) while R and I escaped to a resort down in Key Largo called Bungalows.

It is an adults-only, all-inclusive resort, so we had a lot of drinks!

It was pretty much paradise, in part due to the good company.

As the name implies, we had our own private Bungalow:

The goal was to relax.

Mission accomplished!

Each bungalow came with two bikes (although one of ours went missing and the other had a flat tire):

The hardest we worked was probably the swim out to that flamingo (it wasn't that difficult):

Evening entertainment included trivia...

... and live music on the beach:

Breakfast on the water:

We didn't see much of the Keys, but that wasn't the point.

How about that dinner location?

What treat! I'd go back sometime.
