Thanksgiving activities, part 2

Video chatting with family back in Minnesota:

Supervising dinner production (for a few minutes here and there between episodes of fussiness):

Wearing out a mommy and daddy, who have never felt so thankful:

Happy Thanksgiving everybody!

Transgenerational top

Grandma M brought this shirt along:

Momma Pea used to wear it when she was the same age.

Unfortunately, we don't have a photo of that.

Vision

I enjoy taking photos and my results are fine for a record of day-to-day life, but once in a while it's nice to call in a trained professional.

My strategy is to take a ton of shots of whatever is happening and pick out the few that happened to turn out well. Meg Fish has a more exacting eye: she knows what she wants, she sets it up, and she snaps it with confidence.

Take a look at a few of the wonderful images Meg took of our little Vera-bean on her blog.

Thank you

We've received a ton of support from our friends and family both before and after Veronica arrived, and it has absolutely warmed my heart.

If you threw us a shower, gave us a gift, sent us flowers, brought us a meal, or even just stopped in for a visit, I want to say a big THANKS!

I haven't been very good about taking photos of everybody, and I don't mean to single out anybody's contribution to our new family, but below are just a few of the folks who have gone beyond the call of duty of friendship.

Good morning

This may run a little long for anybody not completely infatuated with the subtle intricacies of a little girl slowly waking up, but it works just fine for me.

La Arcada

We took a walk down State Street and stole some attention in a coffee shop.

Afterward, we nursed while sitting on a whale tale...

... and listened to some jazz music.

Then we went further into the plaza for our first open-air diaper change (not pictured).

This is why email responses from Momma Pea have been so short lately.

Back to work

Today is my first day back at work, which means two things:

1) My photo output might slow down a bit.

2) I'm going to miss the heck out of spending all day with this girl.

Rock critic

We listened to a sampling of softer songs by the Smashing Pumpkins.

We also played "Veronica" by Elvis Costello three times through. She fell asleep in my arms and I was brought to tears.

Family outings

Yesterday we had a picnic near the mission.

And this morning we took a stroll by the ocean.

The weather was very clear. We could see the islands.

It was a scenic place for some burping.

About

Hello, family and friends. I started this blog to post photos and video of our little girl and little boy. If you are interested in having any of these printed, let me know and I can send you some higher resolution images. Thanks for visiting!
