Memorial Day weekend 2026

I didn't take a ton of photos, but Memorial weekend was nice. We grabbed pizza with friends:

 

We got some things done around the house and also relaxed with coffee...

... and with drinks:

The kids had piano lessons (this is Omri waiting in the car during V's):

We had a fire and did some grilling... and generally spent a lot of time out on the deck!

Memorial Day weekend 2024

We went up north for a night to visit my parents and brother's family and spend some time on the lake.

It was also my nephew Tyler's birthday, so we were able to celebrate with him.

He had a good laugh over the trouble he had blowing out the candles:

The kid likes fishing!

Omri really enjoyed playing pickleball on the driveway:

The weather was decent:

Both kids made it into the 58-degree lake, albeit briefly:

Omri took a slower approach to get in, but he floated for 10 Mississippis!

I got out for a brief photo walk in Gilbert on Saturday morning. I took some film photos that I am excited to develop, plus the bottom shot you see here (with my digital camera):

What the guys did over Memorial Day weekend

Looked at a mine pit that is filled in with water:

Spent three hours touring a school that recently closed (I took bunch more photos of the place and am putting together a gallery):

Hung around Grandma & Grandpa's house:

Went to a park:

Played Parcheesi (and a bunch of Uno):

Drove over to Hibbing early Monday morning to take a photo walk but mostly just ran into a major rainstorm:

Attended the Memorial Day service in Gilbert:

My dad and I also went to see the new Top Gun movie. It was a fun weekend. Up next, we'll see what the ladies of the house were up to.

Memorial Day weekend 2021

The kids and I went up to my parents for Saturday night, while R stayed back to begin to tackle the re-entry into our kitchen. It was great to reconnect with family after limited in-person interactions during the pandemic.

The weather was not quite as warm as it has been in the past, so we did not make it into the lake this year. The kids did go on the slip-n-slide, however, which uses lake water:
