Daytrip to The Pitons
The Pitons are two volcanic spires along the coast of St. Lucia. We took a day-long catamaran tour to see them and made some other stops along the way.

I am interrupting my coverage of St. Lucia to post this 8mm film footage that was taken by my dad 41 years ago. The music was written and recorded by my younger brother Trevor. You can see my older brother, my mom, and most of my cousins (well, the ones that were born by this time) around the table. I'm really happy to have this recording and to look back on it on my birthday. Good job, dad.
We definitely prioritized the beach, but there were three or four pools at the resort too, and we made a point to check each of them out. We usually had them to ourselves.
We went ziplining in the rain forest. The outfit took these photos from our adventure:
After a very long day of travel, including a four-hour flight delay and a twisty, loud (from the radio), open-windowed taxi ride from the south end of the island to the north, we arrived at The Landings resort.
We stayed at The Landings Resort & Spa, and the beach there was not so bad...
We are back from our 7-night stay on the tropical island of St. Lucia. More photos will be coming as I find time to edit them!
This one has been brewing for a while, but I still ended up rushing it at the end so that I could leave you with a fun video before another quiet spell begins on the blog. I may add on to and/or tweak it in the future because the ideas keep coming!
We had quite the exciting afternoon at the slopes last Sunday. There was a slush puddle at the bottom of the hill. The concept of sledding through it nagged at us until we were able to gather the courage to do it. We successfully went through it twice together (not captured on video) and then Omri did it twice on his own. He didn't quite make it past the lip of the pool on this run... but see for yourself:
Our nephew Salvador stayed with us for an evening while his parents went out to a concert. He was a delightful little visitor!
