Daytrip to The Pitons

The Pitons are two volcanic spires along the coast of St. Lucia. We took a day-long catamaran tour to see them and made some other stops along the way.

There were a lot of people on the boat with us... this was the best I could do at cropping them out and still including some of that amazing backdrop:

When I said these peaks were along the coast, I meant they are RIGHT along the coast:

We stopped at a little village next to the peaks for a mud bath in some sulphur springs. The water was hotter than most hot tubs.

I didn't bring my good camera near the water and mud, but here's a cell phone shot from a little closer up:

After that we rinsed off in a waterfall:

On the ride home, we anchored along the coast for some snorkeling:

Omri wasn't a strong enough swimmer yet, so R and I took turns with Veronica.

The seafaring man:

He drank 7 guava-pineapple juices and had to pee reeeeeeeeaaaaaaally bad on the van ride back to the resort.

At one point, the guides asked that we dance for our drinks. Omri complied. This was his audience:

St. Lucia is a popular destination for cruise ships, and I can see why. It is quite beautiful!
