Reef Bay hike

70% of the island of St. John is a U.S. National Park. We saw a good cross-section of it during a seven-mile hike!

This is the visitor center where we met up with our tour group:

Taxi to the top of the island:

It was called the Reef Bay trail.

We saw the ruins of an old sugar mill:

And petroglyphs:

And an old factory:

We thought the hike ended at this beach, but the water was too choppy for a boat to pick us up, so we had to hike back instead (and it was all up hill)!

The kids were really good sports about the whole thing.

We had a little break first:

We took an alternate route back, making a big triangle on the island.
