Alma
R and I drove down to Alma, Wisconsin for a 25-hour break from parenting and to celebrate our anniversary. We have spent nights away from the kids individually, but this was our first together. They stayed home and had an even better time with Grandma Linda.
Alma is a small town along the Mississippi River. We stayed at the Tritsch House, which was not your typical B&B but certainly welcoming and charming enough.
R, taking in the amazing view at the local winery:
The music was good. The wine, less so.
This one is from dinner at The Empire Room, where, thankfully, they serve wine from other regions:
Morning hike to Buena Vista Park:
We missed the kids like crazy, but what a wonderful little getaway we had! Thanks to R for planning it and to Linda for keeping an eye on our little ones.
