Our first house

We're having some work done at our current house and it has been on our minds a lot lately, so for my wedding anniversary post this year, it seemed appropriate to show the two of us in front of our first house. This was in Alabama, of course.

Times were simpler then. We owned a kitchen then.

Easter morning 2021

And we finally arrive at Easter morning.

The kids found the eggs so fast I barely got any photos.

Grandma Linda came by for a visit later in the morning. We ate some take-and-bake brunch and went to an outdoor church service.

Osterfeuer 2021

"Osterfeuer" is German for Easter fire, a tradition we took part in for a couple of years with some friends in Santa Barbara. We brought it back this year on the night before Easter. We were able to try out our new low-smoke fire pit and make some gourmet s'mores.

Ninja line

The kids got a ninja line (think tightrope walking with things to grab onto) for Christmas and we've been finally able to put it up (well, this was back in March). They've been having a lot of fun with it!

Odds and ends from Spring Break 2021

I'm falling behind on covering regular life, so I'm just going to throw the remainder of my photos from Santa Barbara into one last post.

Here's another favorite place to eat, Padaro Beach Grill (aka the place with the gigantic sandbox):

 

We didn't let anyone know that we were coming into town this year, but we ran into our old neighbors while walking down State Street anyway. They invited us to their place on another afternoon. It was great seeing them... the kids always get along so well.

Another day took the hike up to Inspiration Point. That view never gets old!

I wanted to show the kids the Frog Wall, so we tracked it down in the hills. This array of frog statuettes goes on for blocks:

Back to the beach:

No trip to Santa Barbara is complete without a walk through our old neighborhood to the Mission:

I think that is it, at least until I get my film developed. It was an enjoyable trip, a nice respite from the routines and lack of color in our Minnesota life. I'm sure we will be back again one day...
