Wow, we've been married 15 years now and together for 20, which is about half our lives. I'm not sure we knew what we were getting ourselves into on that rainy Saturday at a small church in Alabama, but I wouldn't trade the time since for anything in the world... well, maybe for something on Mars. No, not even that.

Here's a little look back on our wedding, just for fun. All photos taken by One Fine Day Photography.

Meeting Mason

My younger brother and his wife had a baby, but nobody has been able to visit the little guy due to the pandemic. We decided to make the trek over to Maple Grove and get a look at him from the driveway. He's definitely a cutie, a sleepy cutie :-).

Big guy on a bike

Omri can ride a two-wheel bike now! He's proud of his new skill and I am proud of him. He loves it! He's been out riding every day since he learned on March 30 (except for Easter due to the snow storm).

And here's a quick video from his very first moments of riding. Turn up your sound so you can hear him say "Weeeeee! I'm pedaling all by myself... And it's so scary!"

A few words for Jack & Gloria

The four of us--and some special guests--wanted to say a few words to my Aunt Gloria and Uncle Jack on their 50th wedding anniversary, so we made this video. It has a bit of a twist ending... so wait for it.

Easter scene

I meant to include this in yesterday's post, but it slipped through the cracks. Veronica set up this photo opp for the little guy. I believe it is meant to be somewhat tongue-in-cheek.

Egg dying 2020

I made the controversial decision to buy a different type of egg dying kit this year. This one involved some mixing:

And gloves:

Here's the before look at our eggs:

We started with a foamy mixture that we poured onto a pan:

And then we added dye to it:

Veronica's hands make it look like she was performing surgery:

We dipped the eggs in the colored foam:

The colors swirled together pretty quickly:

This is not the most pleasant looking stage in the process:

The next step was to wash off the eggs. Unexpectedly, they all turned out purple!

V was happy because it's her favorite color:

Omri was not so happy, so we added some drops of his favorite color to a few of the eggs:

The finished product:

Cottage Cheese Junior: Character Introductions

We will get to Easter photos eventually, but for now enjoy this video creation from Veronica, Omri, Elise, and Tyler. It's a sort of "next generation" rendition of my infamous Cottage Cheese series. They shot it last fall at my family's hunting shack and Veronica just wrapped up the editing over the weekend. They definitely had fun with it!

HawaiiPhone

Here's a kind of alternate view of our trip to the Big Island from the perspective of my iPhone.

Omri was pretty proud of this "armored" sand castle creation of his:

Our condo had this great pool right outside, along with a hot tub and a "medium" tub (photo by R):

R and I got out on a few dates, including a really long job/hike along the rocky coast:

Hiding out from the virus at Oma's Hut:

We went on a whale watching cruise... and didn't see a single whale. It was still a nice boat ride.

Fill your own malasadas:

Hawaiian Shave Ice:

I'll be honest: we thought about riding out the pandemic in Hawaii (we did have our work laptops with us) but ultimately decided to head back to the mainland.

Ready for the flight home:
